Breed Standard
Let me introduce you the Bolognese breed. Detailed breed standard and description with pictures about our favourite breed, the Bolognese.
The Bolognese breed originates from Italy
According to the FCI classification, it is a member of the 9th breed group, which is called: Companion Dog Breeds
The Bolognese only exists in white - there are no other color variations or spots.
It is a dog breed with a quadratic structure, weighing between 3.5 and 5 kg.
The word quadratic means that the dog is almost cube-shaped, so its height is the same as its body length. The average height of the breed at the withers is between 25-30 cm.
The ears of the Bolognese are soft and the auricles are thin, almost imperceptibly curved towards the ground.
Interestingly, puppies may have brown spots on their ears and bodies, but these turn white as the puppy hair is shed.
In our breeding work, we strive for aesthetics - this is especially important when it comes to the head, because we instinctively look at the puppy's face first when we see a cute dog.
The Bolognese Personality
It is a dog breed with a calm nature as an adult, active, playful nature as a child, enterprising, docile, and attached to its owner and its environment.

A Bolognese that is carefully raised and comes from a reputable breeder has a long life, living with its loving family for an average of 15-18 years.
Distinguishing the Bolognese from other dog breeds

Maltese
It is also white but smaller in size and weight than the Bolognese. Maltese's body structure is more elongated. (so their legs are lower). Their fur is straighter and often forms a parting of itself. In addition, the Maltese's face and nose (the black nose part) are also smaller than the same parts of the Bolognese.

Bichon frisé
They are also white, very similar in size and body structure to the Bolognese, although the body is more robust and stocky. Their ears protrude noticeably to the side from the plane of the head. If we touch it, the base of the ear is hard and the earlobe itself is thicker than the ears of the Bolognese. Its base of the tail and tail are also more robust than the same parts of the Bolognese. Their face is wider, the nose is larger.

Bichon Havanese
The Havanese comes in many colors! White or very light cream individuals are also born in the breed, but basically it is a very colorful dog breed. The Havanese is larger in size and weight than the Bolognese. Its body structure is also elongated, so its legs are shorter. Its coat has a thicker texture and is less curly, more wavy.
The Movement of the Bolognese
A cheerful and energetic breed with a noble and distinguished head and tail raised over its back when moving - it can wag it continuously while walking.
