Welcome to Bellissibolo Bologneses' Website!

We are Andrea Kovács and Sarah Sztruhala—a mother-and-daughter duo and the proud owners of this wonderful Bolognese breeding program. Our journey with Bichon breeds began in 2002, and since then, we've established our own kennel in Budapest, Hungary. We spend quality time together at dog shows and in our daily life with our dogs. We care for our dogs together every day—raising and nurturing our puppies is a shared passion, and we love every minute of it!

Our Mission

Our goal is for the puppies from our breeding program to meet the highest quality standards—body structure and proportions, health, character, and pigmentation—so they can be cheerful companions for their owners for many years, at least 15 years. Due to our hard work, we earned the TOP BREEDER title for the first time in 2015. Between 2013 and 2024, Bellissibolo dogs achieved several TOP DOG titles in Hungary and Slovakia.

Master Breeder degree

Over the past 16 years, our Bellissibolo Bolognese kennel has produced lovely puppies who have brought joy to their owners in over 10 countries worldwide. In recognition of our work and passion, we were honored with the MASTER BREEDER title by the Hungarian Kennel Club in 2023.

Who are we?

In our professional lives, Andrea works in business, and Sarah is a PhD student at the ELTE TTK Biology Doctoral School. Additionally, she has assisted in preparing numerous theses in the Biology undergraduate program as a supervisor and students can also meet her during laboratory and fieldwork sessions. Outside her university work, she also works as a private tutor in biology.

Csaba has been a member of our team since 2017. As Sarah's husband, he actively participates in dog shows and prepares the dogs for the competition season. The picture shows Sarah and Csaba at their wedding—the little bridesmaids and, of course, the ring bearer were all Bologneses!

International success

Every year, we participate with our dogs in World and European championships. These events—like other sports competitions—are held in many countries around the world. Distance is no obstacle; our dog named Bellissibolo Alberto achieved the title of Res. World Winner at the 2016 World Championship in Moscow.

Our Bellissibolo dogs have competed in many parts of the world: in Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Spain, Ireland, Finland, Poland, the Czech Republic, and neighboring countries such as Austria, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, and Serbia.

How it all began

Our Bolognese adoration began more than 16 years ago and our enthusiasm has only grown over the years! It is a great happiness for us that the Bellissibolo dogs have won numerous winning titles and championships in recent years. Every year we participate with our Bolognese in high-level international exhibitions, European and World Championships.

We do not have many puppies, in fact, we can generally say that we have a litter every 1-2 years. We like to devote our time and energy to this, because every puppy is a member of our big family - we raise and love them as if they were our own children. The puppies from our kennel bring joy to their owners in Hungary and in several European countries. Of course, we keep in touch with the owners of all the puppies born in our kennel and we are very proud of them!

Social factors influencing puppy development

The Bolognese - and the love of dogs globally - led Sarah to natural sciences in high school, and later to a career as a biologist. During her university studies, she placed great emphasis on behavioral sciences: she completed her BSc thesis at the Department of Ethology, which examined the social factors influencing the development of puppies, specifically the caregiving behavior of dogs. Her supervisor was Dr. Péter Pongrácz, assistant professor. You can read the article from the thesis in English at the following link:
