About Us
Read Our Story
Welcome to Bellissibolo Bologneses' Website!
We are Andrea Kovács and Sarah Sztruhala - a mom&daughter duo and the owners of this fab Bolognese breeding. We met with the Bichon breeds in 2002 and later we established our own kennel in Budapest, Hungary. We spend lots of great time together at dog shows and in the everyday life around the doggies. We take care of our dogs together every day - we raise and care for our puppies together and we love every minute of it!
Our Mission
Our goal is that puppies from our breeding should meet the highest quality standards (body structure and proportions, health, character and pigmentation) and they could be a cheerful companion of their owners for long years, at least 15 years. Due to our hard work we gained the TOP BREEDER title for the first time in 2015. Between 2013 - 2024 Bellissibolo dogs achieved several TOP DOG titles in Hungary and in Slovakia.

Masterbreeder degree
In the last 16 years our breeding the BELLISSIBOLO Bolognese kennel has been producing lovely puppies who make the life of their owners much happier in 10+ countries around the World and we achieved some fab titles. In recognition of our work and passion, we have earned the honorable MASTER BREEDER title from the Hungarian Kennel Club in 2023.

Who are we?
In civilian life, Andrea works in business, and Sarah is working as a PhD student at the ELTE TTK Biology Doctoral School. In addition, she has assisted in the preparation of numerous theses in the Biology undergraduate program as a supervisor, and students can also meet her during laboratory works and fieldworks. Next to her university work, she also works as a private tutor in biology.
Csaba has been a member of our team since 2017 - who, as Sarah's husband, actively participates at dog shows and prepares the dogs for the competition season. The picture shows Sarah and Csaba at their wedding - the little bridesmaids and of course the ring bearer were all Bologneses!

International success
Every year we participate with our dogs in World and European championships. These events - as in other sports - are held in many countries around the world. Distance is no obstacle, our dog named Bellissibolo Alberto achieved the title of Res. World Winner at the 2016 World Championship in Moscow.

How it all began
Our Bolognese adoration began more than 16 years ago and our enthusiasm has only grown over the years! It is a great happiness for us that the Bellissibolo dogs have won numerous winning titles and championships in recent years. Every year we participate with our Bolognese in high-level international exhibitions, European and World Championships.
We do not have many puppies, in fact, we can generally say that we have a litter every 1-2 years. We like to devote our time and energy to this, because every puppy is a member of our big family - we raise and love them as if they were our own children. The puppies from our kennel bring joy to their owners in Hungary and in several European countries. Of course, we keep in touch with the owners of all the puppies born in our kennel and we are very proud of them!

Scientific article:
Social factors influencing puppy development
The Bolognese - and the love of dogs globally - led Sarah to natural sciences in high school, and later to a career as a biologist. During her university studies, she placed great emphasis on behavioral sciences: she completed her BSc thesis at the Department of Ethology, which examined the social factors influencing the development of puppies, specifically the caregiving behavior of dogs. Her supervisor was Dr. Péter Pongrácz, assistant professor. You can read the article from the thesis in English at the following link:
